Up in the hills of Chontales is a newer development breaking ground in big ways. Luxury homes are popping up left and right and the developers just broke ground on a two-story condo building. It's only a matter of time before grocery stores, restaurants, and bars start getting built.
Tucked away in a private area of this development is this affordable home building site, just under 1/2 acre, with a beautiful valley view. The development has water and electricity, but the electricity hasn't been run to the property line just yet. Although, with a little bit of a nudge, it could be brought over. Right now there aren't any homes built in this particular area of the community, so you will be the first on the block.
Town of Chontales Located close to Golf, Local Shopping, and Adventures
What's great about this area is that, even though it's in a more remote area, there's still a lot of tourist activities nearby. The San Buenas Golf Resort is just 15 minutes north on the main coastal highway. This golf resort is the ONLY one in Southern Costa Rica south of the Los Suenos golf resort near Jaco. About 5 minutes from the entrance to Chontales is the Osa Canopy Zip-Lining tour, that boasts the best zip-lining in all of Costa Rica. There are also beautiful natural attractions all over the place like wildlife, rivers, and waterfalls.
If you plan to head south you're going to run into all sorts of cool things starting with the town of Palmar Norte. In this town, you can find all of your daily necessities at fair prices. Keep on another 10 minutes and you're in Sierpe, home of the famous mangrove tours where you can take a boat and see crocodiles, monkeys, and birds. Oh my! If a longer journey is what you're interested in, then keep driving! The Corcovado National park is only another hour more and it is home to the largest variety of wildlife in all of Costa Rica. As you can see, there definitely isn't a shortage of things to do near Chontales.
